Our bus arrived in Cordoba on the Thursday morning at around 07:30. We sleepily got off and again refused to tip the baggage guy for his 2 seconds of work. We'll get them off ourselves mate. Jumped into a taxi and cruised on down to our hostel. We dumped our bags and headed off for a mid afternoon steak at Le Gatto. That's the problem with this place - you can get it at any time! Not feeling too guilty we got ourselves some tickets to see Batman! We'd been waiting a while and barring Australia, no one was seeing it before us. A quick look around a very windy Cordoba and we headed back to the hostel to get our glad rags on! It was to be a big evening. We headed out at half 7 for a quick pitstop round Ronald's house. Full we then popped it next door to the cinema. As expected it was packed but we had good seats even if the cinema itself wasn't that great. The film on the other hand was immense. We were truely impressed. After that epic it was time to get ourselves on the town. We hit a place that was rammed with bars and we could tell it was going to be a good one! Started off on the wine and just let the night roll from there. Now if anyone is wondering where Adrian Brody now works we have found him. In a cocktail bar in Cordoba. We are sure it was him and after he was very helpful on where to go clubbing he served us two litres of multi-coloured petrol. He's a good lad. From there we wanted to hear some hip hop. We popped it into the nearest place we could hear it playing. Not our greatest move. The bouncers looked at us rather odd and within two minutes we had discovered why. Our first stop was the bar and for a busy place there was no one really at it. A little confused we ordered two double vodka lemonades and a rum and coke for James. Things started to click when they served us a smirnoff ice in a cup instead of Vodka and some party pop for James. We were indeed at a kids disco. Slightly embarressed and a little gutted as the music was quality we had to down our drinks and pray the police were not waiting for us outside. We could have killed the bouncers. Not messing around we hit the club Brody suggested. There we had a wicked night on new age wine and were even dancing to electro until gone 6 in the morning. It was a stormer.
The Friday and it was no surprise we were not up before 12. An actual time would be embarrassing to mention but we did manage to get some shopping based banter in as well as a bit of internet. It wasn't our most productive day but when we got back to the hostel we treated ourselves and watched American Gangster. After that it was pushing one, however the boys weren't tied and they were slightly peckish. A quick word with the front desk and we bowled upto a restaurant at one in the morning, well under dressed and popped down none other than 500g of the finest steak, with jacket potatoes on the side! It is true we will all be porkers on return to the UK. Hunger delt with we strolled back for a kind of early night. Well it is in Argentina.
On the Saturday we were some what refreshed and decided to do what us metro sexual boys do best. Shop. For some reason in Argentina we have ditched the Lonely Planet's ideas and continuously shopped. It would be understandable if we were actually buying stuff but we're not! We have come content in browsing. This we can assure is about to come to an end and we will get back on track. After food and some catch up action we headed back to the hostel for a BBQ. There we knocked it down a class or two with the beef we've been eating but we thought we should mingle a little. Probably not the best to try and make friends though when you've each got a litre of wife beater in your hand! After eating we went out for another night on the town. Cordoba is certainly packing the nightlife with 7 uni's and more bars than you can shake a stick at. We could have easily satyed longer here!
On the Sunday we had a bus to catch. We had knocked it up to Carma (First class with lazy boy seats - although there was better to come) so we could recline and relax. Most of the Sunday was just chilled with some big waiting time. Cordoba seemed quiet - no doubt recovering. Mendoza and wine tasting central was next on the agenda!
