Hey everyone
We've been pretty busy since leaving Playa. As you can see we've now reached Belize and at last, the good weather has arrived!
After PDC we stayed in a really cute beach cabana in Tulum for a few days. It was really primative, constructed out of wooden poles, thatched roof from Banana leaves and sand for the floor. It was a little windy though and we ate sand most nights.
We were a bit concerned when the rain started pouring through the slightly holey roof and saught refuge in a hostel in town for the evening where we met a good crowd of people and played poker.
The ruins in Tulum were worth a look but the best bit about them was the setting as they were overlooking the sea.
After Tulum we breezed through Chetumal which was pretty non descript and a bit smelly and stayed in Belize City where we met up with some of Chris' friends. They promptly told us that we were staying in the ghetto and not to venture out at night or walk down some streets in broad daylight.
We were well looked after by Chris' friend Ali who acted as our professional tour guide, taking us around all of the city's highlights such as the One barrel factory, Casino and the Zoo. He also kept us well fed, Lucy in particular was happy to be out of the Mexican kitchen and eating Stewed chicken and rice!
Caye C is pretty cool, it's got a relaxed Caribbean feel and amazing marine life. We went snorkelling yesterday and found ourselves amongst nurse sharks, sting rays and cute green turtles. We also got to tickle a big black grouper under the chin and keep all of our fingers!
Today we tried wake boarding as you can see from the facebook pics and hung out at the beach house. We're set to go on a sunset boat trip tomorrow providing they get enough people so fingers crossed!
