Welcome to the last India entry! It has been a good run but India has proven to be rather tireing for the both of us so it's time to move on! We have seen alot of things, experienced a truely unique culture and met some good people (not to forget being touched in special places by security). Can't go wrong with such a result, just been a shame that some medical problems have occured. Otherwise it has been a very much enjoyable trip so far
As for Jaipur, we haven't really done much to be honest. It has been a bit of a bonus to sit back and relax for a few days and have Charlie recover from an unpleasant little hospital trip, which I must say gave us a good insight into the Indian health system! They have a sort of buy the items your going to need in the hospital policy, e.g if a drip is required, go buy it from the phamacy around the coner....great excersise I must say. But after a night spent in the hospital Charlie was back at the hotel recovering from what seemed to be a follow up of a previous dose of food poisening. But happy to say on the mend now!
It hasn't been all bad here, met a couple of nice characters. Hotel staff includes a couple of cool guys to chat with! And the pay as you go internet has kept myself occupied for a while. I had a small shock yesterday though as I walked from the hotel room towards the stairs and was nabbed by this large scary looking women from what sounded like the USA, she promptly popped the question (not that one) asking where I was from with no introduction (I actually thought she was drunk and angry at me for some reason to begin with). I mentioned the fact that myself and Charlie are from the UK, Jersey. Her eyes seemed to light up as she was able to respond with some fun facts about Jersey that I was apparently unaware of! Take the fact that the potatos used to be covered with seaweed for example, I am told they dont taste the same now that we don't do it, perhaps someone reading this could try "seaweeding" some Jersey Royals and let us know whats it's like, perhaps a hidden delicacy of the Island!
So now it's time to move on to Singapore which looks perfect for the Christmas and New Year spirit as they seem celebrate the occasion with style. Lots of street decoration and events that seem to be scheduled to run. Also the nightlife looks excellent, some famous clubs reside in the area with some funky themes (An underwater theme nightclub 71 floors up in a building? Hell yeah!) And the fact that the current hotels restaurant is a veg only one, this move couldn't be coming sooner, I'm almost at the point of going cow hunting on the streets of india for a steak! So dinner in singapore will be meat with a side of steak and sausage.....
This entry is the last map marker for India sadly, It would have been nice to see more of the north but it was agreed that we both are too tired of india to stick around. So off we go, via train! (you read it right...train) tomorrow morning to Delhi where we will have a lovely 10 hour wait in the airport and an overnight flight to our new home, Singapore.
Check back soon for the Singapore entry and may I just point out it's going to be very hot (haha).
Buh bye!
