Hanoi was a huge city. Possibly the most hectic city I had been in too.. The roads were crazy and the people were so friendly. We managed to get a fab deal on our hotel. It was 6 pound a night including breakfast .. The hotel was called golden sun villa and it had only been open for 2 weeks. Our room was huge. We had free fruit everyday , huge beds, hot water, a hair drier :) and the most lovely staff that would do anything for u. It was amazing. We were no longer living the traveller life for another 6 nights. Wahoo. We spent our first few days waking around the busy streets of Hanoi taking In all the sights and all the delicious street food. We also decided to do some shopping as it was so cold in hanoi compared to the rest of Vietnam, it was only about 12 degrees and it was windy and wet and we has no warm clothes packed with us. In Hanoi we visited the a prison called Hoa lo which was really interesting and spooky and also quite disturbing to see how they were treated and how they lived.. Also there is a war museum in Hanoi which is brilliant and you see so much about the Vietnamese war. As the weather was so rotten we decided to go to the cinema to see Hunger games in a huge shopping centre. It was so good to do something normal and we felt like we were at home. It had cost us only 3 pound each for a ticket each and popcorn. We loved how cheap it was here. Next trip was a trip to Halong Bay which we booked through our hotel. We boarded a boat called 'Fantasea' on the bay which was an hour from Hanoi. The bay was beautiful despite the weather. Our boat was so cute and small. Only 12 of us was inboard yet we had lots of space. We had so much food onboard the boat and all of it was delicious. We spent our first day cruising around the bays looking at the beautiful sights and also visiting on of the biggest caves in the world. It was pretty spectacular... That evening we stayed aboard the boat eating and drinking lots and also did some squid fishing which was so much fun, The next day we cruised around stoping and starting and taking in the amazing views. What a trip, it was so worth it... Back to hanoi and then on to Hong Kong was our next stop. What a change that was. Hong Kong was a crazy place , it's as absolutely buzzing, We only spent 3 nights here and jam packed it all in, We visited Victoria Peak on our first day which had the most amazing views overlooking the island and Kowloon. You have to get a very steep tram up and up there is a huge area of viewing points, restaurants , bars, shops and walking trails, it wasn't what we expected but was a really good day out. We treated ourselves to a bumma gump which was worth every penny. We also visited Stanely which we got to by bus and went to the market and had a drink overlooking the sea... Our second day we spent exploring Hong Kong and went to Ocean Park which was a huge theme park on the mountains of Hong Kong. It was crazy we got to spend the afternoon there on rides and waking round the park we saw Pandas. :) that evening we thought we would hit the the town and that we did.. We got rather merry and enjoyed the buzzing nightlife that Hong Kong offered. It was very much like London and made us feel right at home, With a heavy head the next morning we boarded our flight to Fiji for Christmas :) xxxxx
