Hey guys!! So we are finally in Sunny australia!!
Christmas was spent in Bangkok which was a bit pooey. We had cheeseburger and chips for dinner hehe, but we met a nice group of french boxers in the evening who were funny and kept us entertained! Their English wasnt great so communication was sometimes a bit of an issue, but we managed! We arrived in Sydney the day after boxing day and found NOAHS BACKPACKERS! Its a youth hostel. We are staying in a room with 14 other girls, all on bunkbeds! I got a bad deal, im on a top bunk with a really lumpy matress but never the less its really fun, all the girls are lovely and we have been going out every night. In the hostel there is a bar called THE SHACK where we begin every night, after there you can go to loads of differnt bars and order a "schooner of tooeys" whcih is the australian version of a pint of beer, except a schooner is smaller than a pint! I feel so silly asking for it. haha most days here are spent on the beach. We went on a speed boat around sydney harbour which was amazing!! We stupidly sat at the back of the boat and refused waterproofs and therefore got absaloutely SOAKED, they take you all around the bridge and the operah house and take you on crazy spins, we really had to hold on tight and we got so wet we might as well have just jumped in for a swim, wet to the bone! It was quite interesting the looks we got walking round the harbour dripping wet afterwards! haha. Some nights we spend sitting on the beach drinking and listening to jess sing with her guitar... shes amazing! All the people here are so chilled out, nothing is stressfull and we just take it easy all the time which is so nice. We will have to find a job soon though... probably in a bar. We need to do a course first though in responsible sale of alcahol! Also we met a nice aussie girl in thailand who lives in perth and shes got a mate who has a flat and she said we could go and stay with her whenever which is an option.... we might also like to buy a van and drive up the east coast, these are all just general ideas at the moment, we need to earn some cash before we can seriously look into any of them!
New years was fantastic! We went over to the botanical gardens oposite the harbour bridge and next to the operah house. There were tons of people, we arrived at about 5 and waited it out but it went to fast coz we met some nice guys to play drinking games with. There were food and beer tents with ques the size of hollywell hill and the porter loos were not too nice either, although better than the ones ive seen at english festivals! Aparently the guys who go around cleaning the loos get paid over 80 dollars and hour!!!! haha im sure you are really interested in that! So anyway, we stayed and watched the fireworks from the botanical gardens which were fantastic and afterwards we were going to come back to bondi to see basement jacks playing on the beach but the public transport was rammed and we didnt get back till well past 4 o clock when it was pretty much over!
So thats all thats been happening at the moment, we are just settling into the aussie life and loving every moment :) apart from sharing a bathroom with 14 other girls! haha Anyway, must dash... i need to get job hunting! I hope you all had a wonderfull christmas and new year, keep me updated coz i love hearing from you all!!
Lots of love Chloe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
