The time finally came for us to be using our penultimate flight to Los Angeles, a particularly exciting flight as I knew my brother and Andrew would soon be meeting us at the other end and I even managed to waste a good hour designing and colouring ina sign in biro for them. Was brilliant to see butternut squash head again and we were over the moon when we realised they had hired a convertible mustang, after finally arranging all our bags and being loaded up we were off in the afternoon sun top down to Orange County and our hotel in Anaheim. We couldn't of asked for a better location as we were opposite the entrance to Disneyland, perfect for the next day when Nicola and I were at the park at opening time-ready and waiting for the magic to begin! Straight away we got to meet Pluto and they day just continued wonderfully, we got to meet so many characters and the park was so quiet we got to go on all the rides practically straight away-wicked! The next day the boys decided to come with us, the day got off to a brilliant start after the Star Wars simulator ride we went into the themed shop and Andrew persuaded Ollie to come in a photo with him as superimposed star wars characters-for a long time I wont be able to here the word forehead without thinking of 1eye. The next day we moved to our very last destination of our travels, The Grafton Hotel in Hollywood and wow, what an amazing hotel! The décor inside the room consisted of zebra print duvet covers, a huge canvas of a half naked man above our bed and even ipod and dvd players, so unbelievably nice to experience some luxury. Our first night in LA we got our gladrags on and headed for our hotel's bar for a few before braving the famous 'sky bar' known to be 'the place to be seen and to see the celebs in Hollywood' fortunately we left the blagging to Andrew who managed to get us in but we all got so drunk and couldn't stop talking that we forgot to look out for any celebs-duh!! Was so exciting going to Hollywood boulevard where we saw all the stars in the sidewalk, the walk of fame (famous handprints etc) the Hollywood sign in the hills but best of all on the strip we met a dwarf dressed exactly like chucky who totally took advantage of Nicola and I's fear of him and chased us down the street wielding his plastic knife and us screaming and running away. Next night courtesy of the guys choice we went to Barfly, known to be frequented by 'Playboy mansion type girls' was really cool in there and we met some very amusing local models and ended up in a real American diner in the wee hours. We checked out the uber cool Santa Monica beach where Ollie managed to get severely sunburned but cheered himself up with a few pints in the English style pub in the town and we got to see some filming of a tv programme from the very characteristic pier. Our 3rd night out saw us at Chateau Marmont bar, which a few dats later Britney Spears was in, next bar stop in The Standard Hotel (co-owned by Cameron Diaz and Leonardo DiCaprio and features in Sex in the City). This was one of the coolest bars I've ever been in, we did the biggest shots of sambucca and relaxed in the swinging chairs until it was time to move onto the seriously different Cedar Ranch where Nicola took the insane decision to ride the bucking broncho and we all ended up in Ollie's room having a cheetoh fight at the end of the night, some very amusing photos emerged from that night!!!Nicola and I spent our final day at the Warner Brothers studio which was brilliant, we got to sit on the sofa in the café set of 'Friends', see loads of Harry Potter, numerous films and tv show props but best of all met Clint Eastwood and he even talked to us! Late afternoon we took a stroll down the famous posh shopping street Rodeo Drive and saw the hotel at the end featured in the film Pretty Women. Was so cool driving round the pretencious but very fun Hollywood in our convertible and even got to check out some of the stars homes, clearest of all was David and Victoria Beckham's. On our final night Andrew and Ollie braved the bars once again and phoned down to us to say Keanau Reeves was drinking in our hotel bar, how amazingly cool-it was totally worth getting out of bed and changing out of our pj's to go upstairs and check him out!! I really had the best week with the boys and was so sad that our whole trip was coming to an end but was really pleased and excited to see my parents who were waiting at Heathrow with a big sign and once I finally arrived home to 9, Pickhurst Rise the house was adorned with balloons and banners with champagne and cake waiting for me inside-I couldn't of asked for a nicer welcome home………
