So today was our last day of lessons and our last day in the Hotel and Mike wasn't with us as he had some meeting to attend to.
After checking out of the Hotel in the morning, we went to school for the last time. It was actually kind of sad to leave Iris and Harry because they had looked after us for most of the week. So at lunch i gave a little Thank You speech and gave them a present each. Thankfully they understood me even though i had a bad throat.
After having a few photos with Harry and iris, we all headed back to the hotel to collect our bags and wait for the bus. The bus would be taking us back to the Hostel we were in at the start of the week and Mike would meet us there at 7pm. So after getting there and successfully checking us all into rooms and paying for the key's, we had the afternoon to ourselves. Which basically consisted of me playing cards with Callum and a few others, cutting my finger (yet again) and falling a sleep on the sofa while the others went to get some food. By the time i woke up, it was around 7pm and Mike was about to arrive. We had all decided that due to the fact it was our last night in Beijing, we would all be going out to drink. I, however wouldn't be drinking. So after being pestered to go out, i got changed and all 21 volunteers and Mike headed to our favourite bar - 4 corners.
Needles to say things got pretty interesting…. But I won't go into that. It was nice to talk to a few people on a personal level and to see everyone enjoying themselves. After 4 corners we went to a club, but didn't go in because it was 50 RMB to get in and it looked pretty bad, so we decided to try and find another club. Leo (a guy some of the volunteers got to know because he worked at 4 corners) led us to another bar which we walked miles to. Turned out to be a really bad bar. So after one drink and Laura managing to spill Callum's coke all over the floor, we headed back to the Hostel. Or most of us did anyway. We had manage to loose a few people and Mike on the way to the third bar, and thought they'd gone back to the Hostel. Turns out they weren't there when we arrived, so Harriet, Brian and I stayed up to see if they'd get home and Rachel and Laura went out to find them. They got back before Rachel and Laura, but eventually everyone got back safe.
Eigth day in China - Got to sleep some more, saw some pretty interesting things on our pub crawl.
