For some reason this post didn't show up, so I will redo day 1, our day of travel. Our flight leaving Portland was at 12:35 pm and clearly before that flight, I had to get some food. I went to burgerville and had a delicious burger accompanied by a chocolate shake. Then it was time to get our connection flight to Seattle and I ate some more there. Then it was time, time to board the plane to China. My first adventure (hopefully first of many) out of the American continent and I was so excited. The flight was about 12 hours and they fed us way too much. That was both upsetting and excting because I love food, but I also love sleep and they would wake me up everytime they passed by with the carts. The pilot then annouces that we would be landing in Beijing soon, and it finally hit me, I was in China. I believe it is very important for college students to travel to become more culturally aware. Furthermore it is important that engineers begin to understand the fundamentals of global engineering, and that is the main reason of why we are here. To experience China, and meet with companies like AECOM. So far, I was loving China and could not wait to see what it had in store for me.
