Hello. Dear family and friends. Through these pages I will let you know of our travels in Chile after a 10 years absence.I have never written a journal before so allow some time for me to get going. By the way, " Chile pa'dentro" the name of the blog relates to an old chilean mapuche selling carpets whom we met many moons ago.he told us very proudly that he had been in Argentina and I asked him if he had been in Buenos Aires and his answer was "pa'dentro" (which is the way peasants used to describe any travelling in the country side). Hope you get the meaning it is difficult to explain something in another language, but anyway,I tried!

Dear Iris and Lalo,
I'm so impressed by the amount of places you've been to I cannot tell you. I recognised quite a few, so I know you went a really long way. And the weather looks just perfect.
We are all well here. Denise and Sany had dinner with Claudio, myself and a friend of Claudio's tonight and tomorrow we are having a few of my friends from the park for luch (WITHOUT the dogs fo course). We are cooking them some Spanish tapas and empanadas.
I have brought back with me the drawing Lalo and I did of Poppy. It is very good. You can definitely say it's Poppy. I wonder if Lalo's new pupils are as good as I.
I hope you are having lots of fun. It must be nice to have some rest now after such an exciting time.
By the way, we rang Loli today and she had her sun, daughter in law and grandchildren with her. She was very happy, and gave me some hints on how to make the perfect Spanish torilla (which I will put into practice tomorrow).

Your trip sounds wonderful........I am intensely envious. What a great idea to make an electronic diary. Tell me, do you write it before the vino or after? I would love to visit Chile one day. I live in hope! What are the markets like there. Are they like those in spain with an abundance of fresh food sold by local vendors?

I didn't know we could send messages. That is really great.
Anyway, I just wanted to say how glad we are for you to be enjoying this long waited trip to the full. I was very surprised to hear you walked miles and miles to get to the waterfalls. I now know who to invite to come on my next trekking trip to Patagonia!
The places you've mentioned sound fantastic. Some of them I know are beautiful, since I've been there myself. I recognized many names, and felt very nostalgic about Chile.
Everything is fine over here. Alison hasn't needed me yet. On the other hand I'm quite busy with translations, which is really good after a whole month with none.
Poppy and la nieta were very pleased to be back, especially because of Uncle Claudio and St Andrews Park.
We have had a inner party last Friday with lots of things we brought from France: cheeses, wine, pates and an artichoke soup Claudio made. It was lovely to see my friends again. Denise couldn't make it, because she was seeing Helen's family that evening.
I have seen a possible flat to rent. It's very cute and it belongs to a friend of mine. I'm quite excited about it.
Anyway, enjoy yourselves. I hope this will be an unforgetable experience. We miss you. Here is Claudio.

We are enjoying your adventure, we check every day to see where you are and what you are doing - mostly eating it seems, but perhaps all the travelling needs lots of fuel.
