Saludos a todos!!
So we are in the bus station in Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil awaiting bus #3 of the day! No, I tell a grand lie, #4!
So far, so good... although this morning leaving the hostel and trying to pay, I realised I have experienced my first mad tourist swindle when the hostel dude advised me that my 100 peso bill was fake - and a freaken blatant fake at that ie. drawn on with a silver pen! so that was a pricey and time consuming little exercise when we were on a tight schedule.. at least at the time we though we were, we now have a couple hours up our sleeves! I am cursing the taxi driver from the airport in Buenos Aires who i think is the culprit of said swindle.. ah well, lesson learned!!
Since I last wrote, we have had a big loooong bus ride - oh only 20-odd hours!! there was major thunder and lightning most of the way, insane! and it was pouuuuring down on arrival in Puerto Iguazu so we had a relatively quiet afternoon getting sorted and then I cooked dinner... mmMMmm!
Yesterday we went to the falls, it was soooo great! there were butterflies everywhere which i really dont remember from last time I was there.. they were landing on us and flying all over the show.. i loved it! amiee not so much..! the falls are pretty damn impressive! and even though I had been before, I was still really excited and amazed by them! we caught the little jungle train up to La Garganta del Diablo (the devil´s throat) and then take a little walk out to the fall and you stand right above it.. insane!! then there are a couple other walks we took to see some of the other nearby falls... saw lots of lizards on the way and then at the end one super huge one that was the size of a small dog! AWESOME!!! the falls are definitely the kind of experience you really cant put in to words to give justice..
anyone wondering about the photos of the hairy backed man and the speedos man.. they are just pics of things we see that amuse me :) do not fear, i have not replaced michael with an octogenarian...!
so yes, we are en route to a place called Paraty in Brazil, between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.. it is apparently a beautiful colonial town with lovely beaches and architecture... i´m also secretly hoping i may be able to go horse riding... we shall see!
errmm.. all these little things happen daily that at the time i intend to write on here for a little giggle, but since i have the memory of a goldfish, i have forgotten mostly what those things are!
i tell you a strange thing though, in the album in bs.as. you can view a lovely pic of a lady walking down the street in her see-through tights.. i thought she must have just not checked the mirror before leaving home.. however we have seen this apparent ´trend´ multiple times since.. WTF??
righty-o i think i´m about outta news for now.. oh amiee got the first bee-sting of her life yesterday.. poor little chicken!
farewell!!! will be in touch in a trillion years when we arrive in Paraty... xoxo
