Throughout the past two and a half years at University I have been developing my skills as a teacher and have continued to develop as a life-long learner in all aspects of my personal education (school, science degree, teaching degree, music, dancing and socially). There is the saying that “it’s not the destination it’s the journey” (reference) and this is how I have come to think of this saying in everything I do within my teaching degree and has formed the inspiration behind this creative response. My creative response is set out as a travel journal detailing my experiences over the last few weeks of SOSE education II as well as means of reflecting who I am and how I learn.
Throughout professional experience and discussions with my uni tutors I have noticed the importance of collecting evidence of student’s learning and have seen many classroom teachers developing student portfolios titled Learning Journeys. So not only have I set this assignment out as a reflection of my learning, this journal will form a future teaching resource for myself and an example of how I and my students can collate their work samples as evidence of their learning (reference).
