I will be spending two months in Chennai, India teaching HIV/AIDS education and awareness in secondary schools, slums, and villages in and around the city of Chennai. India is ranked third in the highest amount of HIV/AIDS infections in the world with South Africa and Nigeria being first and second. The southern region of this country is heavily affected and in need of support for the international fight against AIDS. I feel so rewarded to be apart of the International Alliance for the Prevention of AIDS. Living in a hostel with thirteen other students for the summer, creating sustainable efforts for change, will be an experience I'll never forget. I hope you enjoy my blogs and pictures yet to come!
