Hola everyone. . .well as I said in the last entry we are here in Choveteca, Honduras. It is a lot hotter here than in Costa Rica. I am staying in the missonaries house and tom the next team comes. Theyll be here for about a week and then we have a couple days "off" before the next team comes.
These past few days we have been able to relax and stuff. We cleaned the house and went to the grocery and in the 2 trips combined we bought 5 cartloads of stuff!!! It was pretty crazy!!!!
Well the first 2 week went good. . .there was a church from Tennessee that came down. The church itself was here for 2 weeks but there were 2 different groups that came. The first week was more teenagers and college students but the second week was more "older" people. (Im not really sure to say that nicely. lol.)
We did a bunch of different things. . .in the morning there was street evangelism. We broke up into groups and went door to door witnessing. There were prayer walks in the morning (which I led). We would walk around the city and stop at different points and pray for certain things. Like when we came to a school and stopped and prayed for all the schools in that area and so on. Then in the afternoon we relaxed or you go and play soccer with the kids. At night is when we had the crusades. We held it in like a park type thing outside. . .we had worship and then the pastor from the church preached. . .then they had an alter call for salvation and also if you just needed prayer for healing, family stuff, etc.
. . .During the day we also had leadership conferences for the pastors and people from the different churches and we also had 2 womens conference. Women are really oppressed in these countries and many of them get abused my their husbands and stuff so it was awesome to have a time just for them. Some of the women from the church gave testimonies and spoke on the "Virtuious Women" from Prov 31. We had refreshments for them and then at the end we surprised them with hand massages. Many of the women (those who were giving the massages and those who were receiving them) cried. The massage didnt last very long but just the concept of someone touching them and showing them love was unbelievable and very moving!!!
From the past 2 weeks we had about 400 hundred salvations!!! Im excited to see what God is going to do this week as well. . .
. . .some things to pray for would be for safety as we travel different places each day, wisdom for people in the ministry (Terry, Arlene, the interpretors), guidance for me as I seek out Gods will for my life.
Sorry this one is so long but I appreciate all your prayers. . .God Bless!!!
