We're now in our second lot of accommodation in Ubud, Ubud Permai Bungalows. They are on Monkey Forest Road, right next door to the Monkey Forest. Now we thought the monkeys would stay in their forest but nope they love dropping in by for a visit! I got the scare of my life yesterday afternoon when two appeared on our balcony! They look through everyones bins for food - when they don't find any they turf the bin to the side! Their on our roofs, beside the pool and on everyones balconies. Dean was trying to get some piccies of them on our balcony and one came closer pretending to be his chum - he then took off with our ant spray, jumped onto the next balcony, Dean chased him and the moneky took off into the trees! Needless to say we had to buy some more spray!
Had a few lovely chilled out days doing pretty much nothing! Ate in two tasty (and mega cheap!) restaurants for lunch. Yesterdays one being the favourite. Had typical Balinese food and it was gorgeous! Even the presentation was like something from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The two main courses came to 2 pound! Still can't get over how cheap it is here. Chilled out by the pool for a few hours this morning - the first time we've actually sunbathed since we left!
There was a storm during the night last night, the rain was wild! It rained a bit when we were eating our pizza for tea but we didn't think anything of it. Later on, around about 9 the heavens opened along with some thunder and lighting. This went on all night! Now we both like the sound of the rain but when your house has no actual windows it can get a bit loud! haha. Our bungalows only have bamboo bars to keep the crims out, a net to keep the mosi's out and a curtain to keep the sun out. Good job they do have curtains as Dean got busted on the toilet by our neighbour......don't think he wants that to happen again!
Hopefully climbing Mount Batur early hours tomorrow morning, just away to try and get it booked.
Lots of Love
