Woke up at 7.30 today to relax a bit before the trek up the mountain! The idea is if you climb high and sleep lower your body gets acclimatised to the altitude quicker! It was hard work and still very hot which I didn't expect, but ultimately worth it! It took us 4 hours because we had to walk so slowly at that height. Just put one foot in front of the other.
As part of our trek we went to a hotel at 3880m. It was built by a Japanese businessman as a touristy thing so people could get a helicopter up and stay the night at the highest hotel on the planet! Very posh and very expensive! Brilliant views of Everest and it's surrounding mountains- which you would expect from a hotel called Everest View!
We slowly walked down and I indulged in the luxury of the Internet to get an update on the rugby. Missing all the hype so much and can't wait to catch it online when I have better connection! If no one has told me the result by then- DAD!
I understand we need to win by 8! At home, against England, very doable! Will be wearing all my welsh kit to show my support! Com'on Wales!
