I wrote down everything in a real journal and taped stuff in it, so this is just the basics. 12-28-06 We arrived and had trouble finding people from our group. Fortunately we found 2 guys in our group and they found our tour director, Omar. We went to our hotel, The Campanile. We took the metro to central Amsterdam to eat at O'Reilly's Irish pub. We ate our "welcome dinner" at the Restaurant Haesje Claes [High Class?]. We all walked around the Red Light District afterwards. The prostitutes looked bored, but I would be too if I were them. We ended up at Hunter's Bar, which was also a "coffeeshop." I did not partake, but many others did. We met some severly stoned Italians and French guys and some very rude Russians. 12-29-06 Somehow, me, Christine, and Britta missed the morning bus to central Amsterdam and had to take the metro on our own. We called Omar and met up with the group at the Anne Frank Huis. Afterwards, we took a canal cruise. We stopped at the Gassan Diamond Center where we got to try on real diamonds! Then we got on the bus to go to Vondeldam for lunch. On the way back, we stopped at Irene Hoeve Cheese and Clog Farm. It was really cool to see how they make cheese and clogs. The clogmaker was really cute. Then we stopped at a windmill, which was really cool. Then we got dropped off at Centraal Station, where we took a bus to the Heineken Experience with Sarah and Allie. Me and Tine did Dutch Karaoke and we all drank our 3 free beers. I bought some awesome socks. Our free gift was a bottle opener! I might have been the only tipsy one. We then continued to the Van Gogh Museum, which I barely remember. I do remember seeing 'Sunflowers' because who can forget that? We briefly paused to take pictures by the 'i amsterdam' sign. We met up with Britta's friend Charles at the Hard Rock Cafe, where he payed for our drinks. We got in his car and he dropped off the sisters and Bob at a coffeeshop. The rest of us went to The Grasshopper for some more drinks. We got hit on by local Amsterdammers. Then he drove us back to our hotel, even though it was completely out of the way for him. 12-30-06 Bus ride :( We stopped in Brussels for about 2 hours. Long enough to get a Belgian waffle, see the Atomium, see the Mannequin Pis, buy souveneirs, and fall in love with the city.
