Hello from Penang! Just arrived here after a 6 hour bus journey (luckily air con, unlike the 9 hours we spent on the mail train!) from the gorgeous beach. Our accomadation was excellent, literally right on the beach, and we spent most of the time lounging in hammocks swimming and sunbathing. We are perhaps a darker shade of pale, and certainly a deeper shade of red! Sunburn on the posterior is rather painful. Went snorkelling all around the Island and saw loads: Turtles, Black tip Sharks. Blue Spotted Stingray and lots of coloured fish.(I believe the snorkelling is when the burning of the behind first occured) Now we are in Penang, and plan to do lots of cultural things, as there is a huge varitey here, lots of Buddhist and Hindu temples and a monorail up to the highest point of the city. Must dash we are going for an Indian tonight and then some Shisha. (charlotte wrote this by the way and jo wrote the others)
