A Lonely Sun Rise
Arrived in Nha Trang today, the sleeper train was not as private as the one from Thailand but it was still comfortable. Our first class cabin had two bunk beds in it, when we walked in there was a Vietnamese man sitting on one of our beds. We checked our ticket to see if we had the wrong room but it was correct. There was an old man and lady in the bunk bed opposite, they spoke to each other then the man left. I'm not sure what was going on but the old lady didn't seem to pleased and kept pointing at us. I smiled at them but I got nothing in response, I think it felt a bit awkward for everyone.
We slept really well and had to be woken up by the train staff in the morning. The journey went really quickly and we arrived an hour early, it was 5am so we weren't sure if we could check into a room at that time. A taxi driver wouldn't stop pestering us and showed us some photos of a hotel on the beach. He said it was cheap so we agreed to go with him. The road along the beach was very long, expensive hotels at one end and cheap ones at the other end. We stopped about mid way outside a hotel. The manageress didn't speak a word of English so it was hard to understand each other. I asked to view the room so she took me up stairs, five flights of stairs to the top! I thought to myself it better be bloody good and it was. It was nice and the view was amazing! Our room looked out to the sea with mountains in the far distance. The sun was just rising, I hurried downstairs so Chris could come up and see it. When he got to the room he had a quick look out then went to bed! So I watched the sunrise on my own lol.
As soon as the sun was up I could feel the heat from the rays, suddenly it was too hot to sit there any longer so I went and joined Chris.
After a few more hours of sleep we decided to leave our room and head out for breakfast and then the beach. The beach must have stretched for at least two miles, mainly lined with hotels. The sea was rougher and colder than the beaches we had already been too but it was still very nice. It was very peacful, the wind kept us cool while we sunbathed, it was too easy to fall asleep.
About an hour later I woke up and noticed tiny blisters appearing on my arms. It didn't hurt but we decided to get out of the sun.
We walked around for a bit and found a tourist shop where we booked a boat trip for tomorrow. I read some reviews online that the boat trip is similar to an 18 to 30's booze cruise so we are excited about having a few lively drinks in the sun tomorrow.
