I want an Elephant!
We were able to have a lay in this morning, much needed after the last two active days. My legs and shoulders ache, it feels like I've been in the gym, needing a nice massage.
Our bus picked us up at 1pm then drove around town picking others up. We thought we were going to be transported to a bus station where we would be getting a bigger coach to the capital. It turned out that we were staying in the minibus, it's a good job we grabbed the two seats with legroom at the front. We always get the legroom seats whenever we get a coach or bus. Chris always deals with getting our rucksacks on the back while I run on to find the best seats. I love getting dirty looks from all the other passengers getting on hehe.
The bus ride was very quick, it only took four hours. As soon as we got there we checked into the Saysouly Guest House. We were lucky to get the last room, it had a fan, bed and a shared bathroom. We would only be in it for a few hours as we must be up at 3am to catch an early flight to Siem Reap.
We headed out and booked a tuk tuk to drive us to the airport tomorrow morning, then we passed a massage parlour. We havn't had any massages while we have been away so we thought we would take a look at the prices. It was really cheap, only a few quid each for an hour. We decided on a tradition Laos massage which stretches and eases tension in the muscles. Chris had a guy and I had a girl. First they washed our feet, then took us to a room together. It was nice that we were in the same room as eachother, I wanted to see the guy make Chris stretch! He was half the size of him! They gave us really baggy pijamas to put on, then we layed on the mattresses. As soon as they came in we could hear a man behind the curtain next to me calling out in pain! I was a bit nervous then lol...for Chris not me :-)
The massage was really good and we definitely felt a lot better after! The only thing I didn't like was all the kneading she did on my shoulders. She tried so hard to get all the knots out. I could feel them pinging, now my shoulders feel a bit bruised.
On our way out I noticed these really cute, chunky little wooden elephants in their shop. I begged Chris for one but he said it was too heavy to lug around so we didn't buy it.
We sat and had hot chocolate and cake, I continued to try and convince Chris we should get the elephant. It was only 120R's which is about £15! In the end he said yes! We went back to the shop, I picked up one I liked (they were quite heavy actually) then checked the price again. It was in dollars.... So actually it was 120$ :-( Ah well no elephant then.
We walked back to our guest house and jumped into bed. We have an early start tomorrow so hopefully will sleep now. I just found a black hair on my pillow, maybe I'll inspect the bed first.
