I've had an incredible week in Perth. We have done loads of really fun activities and I am really looking forward to going down to Denmark for the week for Christmas. When I arrived at the airport I met kat and Amy and they even had a welcome sign for me! :D We have been to the beach loads and taken Chester (their dog) on walks there, it seems strange to spend Christmas time in the warm but i'm certainly enjoying it! One day Kat and I went to a park in Dunedelup and fed the parrots!! It was really fun but a bit scary when they all swooped down or started fighting!!
I met up with Julie, charlotte and Oliver (charlotte was an ex guide) and we went to cavasham for the day which was awesome!! It was great to catch up and all the animals were really cool. Mum you'll be impressed- I touched a snake! We also saw this crazy big spider and it's body alone was the size of a ping pong ball... disgusting!!! :D
On Tuesday night we went to the drive in movies. it was just like on Grease!! Well sort of... We saw Arthur christmas- for those of you who haven't seen it, it's a crazy christmas movie with a load of modern twists in. We couldn't work out quite what to make of it but it was quite funny. We took a picnic and sat at the back of kat's car. There was one part where one character went 'look at the stars' and they weren't just on the screen but all over the sky too!
Wednesday was a busy day. Amy and I went to Freemantle in the day. It was really nice although I think I should have applied a little more suncream!! nevermind it wasn't too bad- just a bit pink! anyhoo in the afternoon I went to the shipwreck museum and ended up having my own personal guided tour, haha even ended up with the tour guides email address... but i do now know lots about the shipwrecks around Freo and WA!!
In the evening we went down to a lake and went Twilight sailing! It was incredible. The views were stunning and I met loads of great people! I think i need a little more practise at 'tacking' where you all change what side of the boat you are sitting on. To say I wasn't very graceful was an understatement!!! :D
Today and yesterday Kat, Amz and I went to Rottnest Island camping. It was so much fun and we laughed so much we could hardly breath! Chocolate cake and uno= sugar high!! :D We got a super early ferry over so we swimming in the sea by 9am! It was lovely and after finally getting our bags delivered 3 hours later we went along to the Basin and went snorkelling. It took a while to get used to it but after that I had a fabulous time and saw a load of cool, colourful fish! My faveourite was a parrot fish, it was big and yellow! After sun bathing until the tide caught my towel we headed back to camp for a game or two of uno!! YAY! :D After a lovely tea we had some super suggary chocolate cake and I felt like we were watching a soap opera because there was a group of people drinking and they had an open fire which your not aloud in Austrlia in case of fires so this older man went over and was proper shouting at them and swearing loads and telling them to respect Australia, he had a point but it was so funny I couldn't move for laughing!! :D
So it's been a fab week, meeting loads of people and enjoying some great bbqs and of course on my first night I went to Kat and Amys' dance concert which of corse was amazing!! All the dances were really good with loads of coustume changes and the tiny tots were super cute- i'm not sure they had much of a clue what they were doing but it was fun to watch!! A fab night!!
Off to Denmark early tomorrow- not sure how much i'll be online the next few days since we're not sure what the internet will be like.
