Hello Everybody (Sarah specifically!!)
We are now back in good old Thailand! We had decided that we'd had enough of Malaysia so we flew back yesterday to get the most of Thailand now the accommodation is even cheaper and while the weather is still good!
We made the decision to leave Malaysia for a number of reasons. First of all the places that we went to didn't seem to have that much to do for tourists, Kuala Lumpar was a bit like Liverpool Street on a Saturday...dead! Then we went on to this amazing place called Genting Highlands which is described as the Las Vegas of Malaysia, and we both have to admit it was really great...Glen and I spent 10 hours in one of the numerous casinos and eventually ended up only 14 quid down!! hehe. The whole place also had 2 theme parks...one inside one outside and was set about 1000 metres up - we had to take a 3.4km, 827 metre high cable car just to get up there, it was absolutly amazing as, being that high, we were completly in the clouds, you couldn't see a thing apart from fluffy clouds, it was really really cool!
Then we moved onto Penang. we arrvied in Georgetown after an 8 hour coach trip (lol we didnt know it was going to be that long!!! we thought it was just gonna b a couple of hours!). The hotel we stayed in was fantastic it had all the amenities of a posh london hotel, and at abt 22 quid we were loving it...but the town itself had very little to do so we decided to move to the beach area of the island. Batu Ferringhi (which translates to foreigners rock) is a strange place. Described by everyone as 'the place to be on Penang' there was nothing to do at all. The restaurants opned for breakfast, then shut, then opened for lunch, and shut and then for dinner then shut!!! The beach had no shade and was faaarrr too hot and there were jellyfish in the sea!! Also as we were there for Chinese New Year all the locals had gone back to the villages to visit their relatives so there was even less to do...d'oh!!
So after all this we decided to cut our losses and fly back to Thailand...on a Fokker 50 hehehe i'm not even kidding!!
So we're back to our ggoorrgggeeoouusss beach, great nightlife, booze!!! (Malaysia is a dry state as it's Muslim) and goood times!!!
Speak to you all very soon love and miss you lots and lots xxxxxxxxxxxx
