Week 19- Australia (Yamba) Day 2
Argh the bus to Yamba was at 5:25 am! So was a super early start. Lizzy dropped us to the bus stop and we said our goodbyes ;( before heading off to Yamba. We arrived at about 8 am and thankfully the YHA was just down the road. The Yamba YHA is a really nice hostel, quite big and it had a cafe at the bottom too. We got checked in and only ended up paying for one nights stay each when we stayed for 2, touch! We settled in, had some brekkie and got chatting to a lad that works there who us from Watford (Jamie). He told us about the hostel and some things to do and told us that he was cooking Greek food tonight for everyone for $5!
We chilled in the common room after we were hint pretty zonked after our early start. Charlotte had a little nap on the sofa before we headed to Coles which was about a 40min (3.5km) walk away. We started our walk but just under halfway Jamie had driven past and saw us so had came back and gave us a lift, waited and dropped us back :). It did look like a long walk!
We then showered chilled out in the common room and waited for the Greek feast to be ready :). Was nice to not have to do any cooking tonight. We had beef and falafel wraps with cous cous, Greek salad and dips. Was yum! Me and Charlotte were feeling naughty afterwards and had a sweet tooth so we went downstairs to the restaurant and checked out their dessert menu. I had sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream and Charlotte had warm chocolate pudding with ice cream. A man from Sydney pulled up a chair whilst we were eating and got chatting to us. The hostel was hosting a free poker night tonight so we decided to hang around and give it a go to get in practice for Vegas. We had absolutely no idea what we were doing but a lady next to me was helping us out a bit. The lads on the table got a bit frustrated with us I think as we didn't really have a clue what we wa doing. We wanted to leave but got dragged into staying and one of the guys at the hostel (Luke) he helped us out. We kept trying to get rid of our chips but we kept winning them back, bit of beginners luck there. We decided to and abandon the game at the break as we had had enough for one night. We got an early night in ready for our early morning start tomorrow....
