Week 17- Australia (Sydney) Day 7
Today we were meeting Nic's younger brother Michael who moved out to Oz around the same time as we went traveling. We had our breakfast and nice longer showers so we felt super fresh. The weather was a bit pants but we still headed out.
We got the train two stops along to Bondi Junction, this is where Michael is living. Obviously we jumped straight on the bus down to Bondi beach. There were so many people surfing and a fair few having a wonder along the sand. We found a little cafe on the seafront so we sat there while we waited for Mike. I had a hot chocolate and Gemma had a fruit shake. We have both got the flu ATM particularly me, I hope I'm not passing it on to Gemma! I've been a bit of a snot bag... Nice! We sat catching up with Mike for about an hour talking about all our Oz experiences and plans!
We then got the bus straight to circular quay as we wanted to walk over harbour bridge. We didn't pay to do the main walk because it costs so much money but we did get pretty amazing views. We walked to the middle of the bridge and got loads of photos (proper tourists) then wondered back. The view of the opera house was incredible, especially with all the boats coming in and out in front of it. We are falling in love with this place...
Gemma's friend recommended we checked out a pancake place called Pancakes on the Rocks. So we decided it would be rude not to! Gemma chose strawberry and I had banana with butterscotch. They were IMMENSE! They were really thick and fluffy, certainly didn't disappoint.
We decided we better work off our pancakes so walked back from Circular Quay to Kings Cross. We walked down the main road which was full of designer shops and full of people heading out for drinks after work, reminded us a lot of London! The walk took us about 45minutes and after a long day of exploring the city we were absolutely exhausted! When we got back we made curry with silver beet and it turned out to be really yummy! We spent the rest of the evening relaxing before heading to be for an early night
