Week 2- Goa- Day 5
Today was yet another beach day woohoo :) it was also a laundry day too! We headed down to the beach for the day, where we found that less and less women on the beach came up to us to try and sell us their things, they have got the hint! Obviously the cows joined us as usual.
We took a snack of bananas down to the beach with us little did we know the cows were partial to a banana too. After char had finished hers she put the peel on the table next to her, a few minutes later this cow started wandering towards us as they sometimes do. However, this time this cow had eyes for only one thing, char's banana skin! The panic on Charlotte's face as this cow was heading towards her was hilarious, it was only at the last moment she realised what he wanted. She threw the skin away from the beds and the cow followed it! We was laughing for a good few minutes after, well I was anyway!
We decided to head up to the hostel a bit earlier today as we had laundry to do! Mums we are washing our clothes you will be pleased to know and it only cost £1 for a big basket full-bargain! Once we took our washing to the lady Charlotte felt like she was being bitten everywhere. She soon realised there was hundreds of little ants on her which must have been scratching her, she was absolutely traumatised. She jumped in the shower to wash them off in the communal bathroom and sprayed ant killer on her also! She was having a very traumatic day so far! We calmed down over a cuppa tea and biscuits and then as we left she realised there was even more, we think they must have been on her bag- she was not happy to say the least.
We then went to get ready for dinner and decided to eat in a local restaurant near the hostel, which never seemed very busy we soon realised why! When we got into the restaurant all of the workers were sitting watching a film, one of them jumped up to seat us and give us the menus. We decided to both have schezuan noodles, I had veg and char had mushroom and we ordered spring rolls to share. We ordered 2 bottles of water then the waiter said they were doing a deal 3 bottles for 100 rupees (£1), we thought it was a bit strange but went ahead anyway. He then bought us up 3 huge bottles of beer, both myself and char very confused we explained again that we wanted water. He finally got the gist! After we ordered I saw the chef run in from the washroom in his towel he had obviously had just had a shower which wasn't a bad thing I suppose! Our meal seemed to take forever to arrive, around 45 mins after hearing a lot of chopping and bang crashing in the kitchen. Mine arrived first then around 10 minutes later char's dinner came out. We were both pretty much finishing our meal and there was still no sign of the spring rolls. There was 4 of them in the kitchen at this point and we were still the only ones in the restaurant. The waiter said to us 5 minutes. Ten minutes passed after we had finished our meal and still no spring rolls by this point we were rather fed up and full anyway, we tried to heft he waiter and he still said 5 minutes. I said to him not to worry to cancel them as we didn't want them anymore because we had finished. He still had absolutely no idea what he was doing, we asked for the bill as we wanted to get out of there sharpish. They certainly weren't getting a tip although we did have a lot of laughs!
We then went to chill at the communal area and look at more places to stay in Cambodia. After a night of researching and being taught how to play chess we decided to call it a night. Just as we were about to leave I then got stung by wasp, just to end our eventful day on a high! One of the guys went to grab his tweezers to get the sting out which he managed to do he then grabbed some ice to put on my leg and stayed with me in case I had a anaphylactic shock, bit dramatic but that's Aussies for ya! They were teasing me saying my leg was going to swell, thankfully I was fine and lived to tell the tale! We have never been more ready to get into bed!
