We awoke and had breakfast early at 7.30, which was good as whilst we were eating our guide Tony said we were due on a jeep safari ride 10 minutes ago that he'd forgotten to tell us about. We were in such a rush that I went out in flip flops, which was fine until we parked up half an hour later for the 'jungle trek' part. I managed to get through without too many scrapes as we were mainly distracted by the mosquitoes, but it was a nice walk and a chance to wonder in the forest, which I don't think we'd be keen to do on our own with the jaguars around. We even saw a monkey family.

Later that day we said goodbye to the birds and mosquitoes and headed off for Bonito - not a moment too soon for my bites!
