Sorry it has taken so long for me to write my first blog, it has been so busy! I spend my first few days in Sydney where I stayed with Ali, Peter, Allister and Rob. I had such a wonderful time, they looked after me so well, showing me around the city and making sure I was ok.
The first couple of days I spend visiting some of the beaches: Balmoral, Dee-Why(I'm not sure how to spell it!) and Bondi (whaaay dad your favorite beach!).
Saturday night I went out in Sydney with Rob and his friends. It was a really good night, we had an extra hour because the clocks went back and got in at about 3:30 after drinking milk and eating meat pies (?!) I saw a possum in the trees too it was ever so exciting haha.
Then I started to use the Sydney trains and ferries. Monday I walked across the Harbour Bridge and at went on the bridge climb - the views of Sydney from the top were amazing! Sunday I went to the Zoo. I got a cable car up to the top and explored for a few hours. I saw kargaroos, wombats, possums and loads of other animals - it was really nice to see them all in real life, although they look quite similar. I got a ferry back to the Opera House where I strolled around, ate my lunch and ran for shelter when the heavy rain came.
I arrived in Byron on Wednesday. It's been raining quite badly, a few hot mornings, but last night there was a thunderstorm. Hopefully it will all rain out and the sun will come back!
It's so laid back here and everyone is really friendly. There are loads of dolphins and turtles, sharks and soon the whales come (harmless sharks by the way). You can see them all from the beach it's amazing. You can also see loads of surfers too.
I'm going for my first dive today, I'll let you know how it is soon! On Monday I start the divemaster course, so I'm sure I'll be kept very busy from then. I've got to do 60 dives in the 9 weeks I'm now here for - that seems like alot!
Missing everyone loads and loads,
Lots of Love,
