Hi folks...... don't really know how to start this one.... We are now in Hiroshima a warm and friendly City where people go about their everyday lives just like everywhere else but as we all know this is a very special place. I have been overwhelmed today by the resilience of the people of this remarkable and humbling place to overcome such destruction and devastation that we should never see the like of again God willing. My friends and I visited the Museum that is dedicated to the memory of those people who lost their lives at 8.15am on the 9th of August 1945...... a sobering and somewhat harrowing experience I can tell you but one that is delivered with a great sense of dignity and fairness. It tells the story in graphic detail of the how, the who, the what and most importantly the why of this most potent of tales that resulted in such a cataclysmic show of 'strength' by one country over another. It does not hide Japan's murky history during the 30's and 40's, it's invasion of China and it's subsequent unprovoked attack on the Americans in Pearl Harbour...... it seems though that this was a high price to pay. You might argue that the 200,000 or so people who died that day saved the lives of millions in the long term by bringing the War to a dramatic close..... who knows, the only thing I would hope is that we never get to such a low point in our humanitarian relations that this would ever be seen as the best course of action ever again..........!
Love Sx (Dx).
