Woke to the announcement that we were soon arriving in Brindisi and we needed to move to the outer deck.
So cool!
Soon we're on Italian soil!
We headed out and before long we were in the unique city of Ostuni, otherwise known as Citta Bianca, the "White City".
This ancient city on a hill was our first glimpse of the old world beauty and elegance of Italy. Hundreds of white buildings surrounding the local Duomo that just made the place seem so peaceful.
From there we drove across the fields of southern Italy and arrived at the slow paced and scenic coastal town of Naples. Oh my goodness! Beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and old forts...really nice.
We jumped back in the car and took off for Rome, arriving at sunset to see the awesome site of the Colosseum.this was one of the highlights of the trip for me...to be in a place so rich in history, where so many believers were killed for their faith. It inspired me. I mean, who is willing to die for a lie? Certainly the first and second century followers of The Way were willing to face whatever awaited them inside the Colosseum rather than deny their faith in Jesus as the risen Lord.
Amazing location!
We headed to our newly located hotel for the night which was located in a place called Monterondondo. Now that is a cool name for a town.
When we finally found it we were amazed by seeing a large group of children playing outside in several sports venues, and it was after 10pm!
Now we know why they called the place the Life Sport Hotel!
