So after many many hours of flying (on quite a posh plane no less - no more ryanair for us seasoned travellers!) we finally arrived at Narita airport at 8am on Sunday morning (that was 11pm Sat night to all you folks back home).

A hop, skip and a jump on a bus and we arrived at tokyo station in the city which is where the real fun began! Firstly......its actually quite big - teeny bit of a shock! Needless to say of course we DIDN`T get lost (I can hear my dad laughing already) and it was our intention to walk around aimlessly for an hour before eventually finding the right platform and trying to buy a ticket was a feat in itself.....we were quite proud of ourselves at this point!

Our hotel was a short uneventful walk from the metro station...walked past Gucci, Armani, Tiffany`s......yes turns out we`re staying in a posh part of town! Dumped our bags in the hotel and went for a stroll where we stumbled across a colourful parade which had obviously been arranged for our arrival....coincedence, I THINK NOT!

Tokyo is amazing, its lovely and warm and sunny (there was a typhoon a few days ago but we missed it thank God!!!) The people here are so friendly and if not for the kindness of strangers we would never have gotten out of tokyo station! Our hotel is fantastic too, we`ll be sorry to leave the comfort of it for Bangkok on Wednesday!
