Well I know it was only 2 hours in Zurich but we did have to change money, we did eat a meal there and we did have some lindt chocolate. We had to change from our well practiced italian to our high school german. So danke it was!!!!
The efficiency in the airport was a pleasant change from the moody italians.
Krista will add more later.
With Swiss efficiency we were flown to Prague airport to a whole new world.
Hello-schken ... Krista here ...
A 120 minutes in Switzerland will leave a foreign (ie Australian) Type A personality with the distinct feeling that their process and organisational skills pale into insignificance in such an efficient country. Within two minutes of landing you are welcomed to Zurich, advised of the local time, weather and where the baggage carousels are - in four languages. That's just while you are boarding the bus that collects you from the aircraft while its still on the tarmac. What must the country's collective underwear drawer look like - sorted by colour, fabric and social occasion no doubt.
Ordering a coffee in English was a nice change, even though it was difficult not saying 'grazie' after every sentence. The Swiss are cool, clipped and efficient. No wonder their cheese is so nice - I'll bet they even have a set of standardised cheese hole measurements so the job's done properly. Apart from a Swiss keyring purchase with a push-button light designed to sear your retina as cleanly as one of their infamous army knives, there's nothing to much to report here. Will have to come back another time so I can at least comment on their cheese fondue, blonde plaits and cow-bells.

Trish Makarian Have fun in Prague! Go see Zlatá Ulicka (Golden Lane) near Prague Castle and when you see the astronomical clock (the Orloj) near old town hall, think of the man who built it because Prague Council had him blinded, his eyes burned with hot pokers so the clock remained one of a kind and would not be built anywhere else
