Surfers Paradise. Not that I have been to benidorm but some people on the coach described Surfers Paradise as quite similar place! I couldn't believe it when we drove in I have never seen so many sky scrapers I don't know what I was expecting really but Surfers was so (for want of a better word) Flashy! We did really enjoy it here though it made us feel like we were on a trashy holiday and even though its not every ones taste we did have a laugh here. Even our hostel was like a hotel in a sky scraper with a pool and pool bar.
The beach was packed with loads going on and the streets were just as manic but it had a lot of energy and was good fun if a little full on a times. The waves where another story all together, they don't call it a surfers paradise for no reason. I have never been in waves like it Andy was clinging on to me as I kept on getting washed away. I lost pretty much all my dignity when a huge wave pumled me and my bikini bottoms ended up round my ankles and my top was round my neck. Andy couldn't do anything but laugh but the wave hit me that hard I had bruses all on my side.
We had heard the urban legends about the sharks attacking surfers and the waves were so big we didn't venture out to far. On the beach are the surf rescue teams with their beach van etc and it all got a bit bay watch when the alarms started going off. All we heard was 'we need every one out of the water I repeat get out of the water' I don't think Andy has ever seen me move so fast. We give each other a look that said ' oh s*** sharks!' and we were out of there, only to hear the guy finish what he was saying and realise he had a little lost boy with him, 'we need to find little Timmys Mum has any one seen her?' And the little boy's mammy came and collected him and the water was soon filled back up with people. But it was just so funny how quickly every one just panicked I think the film Jaws is forever imprinted in our memory! ;)
