HEELLLOOOOO!!!
Really sorry we haven't been more organised and done more blogs for you, but our time in California is nearly at an end! The boys have both left (Glen this morning, and Andy literally just now!) So now it's just us three girlies in the wolfpack!
We've all had the most amazing 10 days. We arrived in LA and slowly made our way through customs..! Then we got very excited and tried desparately to find where Pri and Andy's flight would be getting in, and ended up walking for a good 20 minutes around the airport with our rucksacks! We made it just in time to see them walking through the arrivals gate, and lots of jumping, squeeling and hugging ensued :) The 4 of us got a taxi to our hostel on Venice beach and got settled in before Glen's plane landed. He then met us there and lots more jumping hugging and excitement occured! The 5 of us managed to fit so much into the 3 days we had there - we did the grand tour of LA which included the hollywood sign, walk of fame, beverly hills, rodeo drive, and everything else from the movies! We also went to universal studios which was immense!! Saw lots of famous sets and went on all the rides twice! Our hostel was also in a great location right on venice beach so we spent lots of time wandering around taking in the sights and all the weird people. Good times had by all!!
We then (all too quickly) grabbed a short flight up to San Fran. We spent one day here doing some cheeky shopping (yes, we ALL bought new Levi's) and then got the greyhound down to Santa Cruz to meet the Graessle family - old friends of the horrox family! We had a suuuper time with them of course, even though it was far too short! Bret taught the boys how to surf where they both proved to be fairly professional anyway..! And us girlies oggled at their beautiful children and home.. what a life! They had a BBQ in the evening as well with lots of friends, and the boys were taught how to play basket ball by Nick and Tucker, then the next morning we went to the boardwalk where we went on a couple of dodgy rollercoasters and soaked up the CA sun :) SO GOOD!! We then got the smelly greyhound back to SF, and have just had a wonderful few days here getting to know the city!
The hostel is again perfectly located a short walk from union square, and we managed to be very touritsty! Glen was even asked if he was from france! HA!! We went to Alcatraz one day which was wicked, we took a tram to Pier 39 where we saw all the hilarious sea lions, and made our way to the bridge as well, although it was unfortunately quite foggy, so it looked like it was only half there..! We also had the yummiest creperie across the road from us where we spent many a lazy morning eating waffles, pancakes, bagels and eggs, and we even had dinner there one night..! YUUUMMM! Speaking of yum, we went to the cheesecake factory last night for our last meal together, and despite promising that we wouldnt fill up so as to save room for the all important cheesecake, we didnt even manage 2 pieces between 5 of us!! It was delicious.. but oh we felt SO unwell...!!
Anyway, we've just had the best time. Having the boys and Pri here has been like a taster of home, and both of us are missing everyone heaps. It was so sad to say goodbye, and we wish they could come alng with us, but us three girlie wirlies are looking forward to some time in Charlotte NC and beyond! It'll be great to see Cath's parents and old friends and see where she used to live!
Really really not long until we're home now, can't believe how quickly time is going these days!! So yeah, see you all in just over 2 weeks! MENTAL!!!!
Loads and loads of love,
Cath, Libs AND PRRRIIIII!!!!!!!! :D
