There are a few things that on your first day of travel you don't want to encounter. The first being the when looking on the BA booking page your ticket reference is not supported on their system, leading to a panict hour of being on hold as the smallest snippet form the flower duet is repeted in tinny tones. Only to then be told that you are on their system it just appeires to be a glitch on the web site.
Once that panic was over the next one began! With a phone call from STA to say that the first tour we had booked for when we where in purth was cancelled due to lack of people and they would phone us back in an hour with alternitives. This was three hourse befor the taxi to the airport was due to arive. Two hours later we got a phone call back to offer us the same alternatives that had not been posible to us the first time due the time or money, (how a two hour wait between phone calls would have magically changed our finances or timing its beyond me but o well) so in the then STA had to settle for a full refund but that would take up to little frustrating but on the pluse side it gives me and holly £400 more in the kitty.
The taxi got to us no problems and there where no dreamers untill we hit the M25. This is when i realised that maybe the faits are conspiring against us as we hit, trafic and not just a slight pile up. But complet stand still due to an abandend car. How ever we did make it to the airport in plenty of time.
We had no problems checking in save for the automated mashen not printing out my boarding pass, and at the bag checking we had to wait while someone was unloaded for some reason or other (i feel they may have had a worse day). After facing the embarisment that my bag weighs 16.5 kg, we encountered no problems and had an uneventful flight.
This ease of passage lasted all the way through passport control, baggeg reclame and onto the airport shuttle into the centure of hongkong city. This is where are luck stoped. As one we had forgotten to wright down the address of the hostle and two after we found someone who kindly looked up the address and we found the road the hostle had no sign to indecate where it was. We did find it in the end and i got to take my stupidly heavy bag off, only for out nightmear to be rewarded with a free up gread form a 6 bed to and 3 bed dorm. Its fine for a hostle a little grimy but fine not a cocroach in sight though choosing not too look to closely
For food i took holly to an RBT which r userly a good bed for food it was a complet fail. Holly could not eat much due to a mushroom allergy and in the end neiter of us finished our food. This was followed by a slow walk through the city centure, then a early night due the jet lag!
