We had planned on being on our way to the Great Smoky Mountains today, but we got to enjoy another day in Georgia compliments of Walter. When you have free time what do you do? Laundry, clean the rig, and check propane levels. That is exactly what we did. I went to the office to get quarters and at the same time inquired about the process to fill our propane tank. Our LPG indicator showed only one light out of four. Time to refill the tank. We unhooked and met the attendant at the tank. Uh Oh....they didn't have the right nozzle for the gas gun. So, no propane. That meant conservation of propane to insure we had enough to keep the refrigerator running when not hooked up to power.
Yeah! We got the call that the Beast was ready. Walt felt really bad and wanted to take us to lunch after we picked up his truck. We all piled into our rig and drove to Madison GA to get the Beast. The Beast ran like a dream.
We drove to the Walmart in Madisom and parked our rig in the Walmart parking lot and jumped into the Beast to find a place to eat. Barb found a homey little cafe downtown, but we couldn't find it. The next choice was the Madison Chophouse Grille. We still need to work on the concept of patience when in the South. It took quite awhile for the food to come. But once it came, the food was excellent. I loved my grilled chicken salad with cinnamon apples.
Walt and Barb dropped us off at the Walmart. We picked up a few groceries and agreed to meet back at camp. On the way back, Bob was on the hunt for propane. I checked the yellow pages and called several places, but either they were closed or they only carried the canisters. We will continue the hunt tomorrow on our way to the Smoky Mountains. We headed back to camp.
When we got back, Bob was on his way to pool and went to check with Walt if he was going, too. However, Walt and Barbara were walking around their unit appearing to be looking for something....the extra key to the trailer. It was no where to be found. Barb inadvertently locked the unit with the keys inside when she closed the door after bringing in the groceries. They tried our keys, which didn't work. A family across from Walt and Barb came over to see if they could help. The plan was to try to open one of the windows so that their daughter could crawl through to open the door. They got the screen unhooked, but could not reach the window crank. Scratch that idea. Someone suggested to call the office to see if there was a locksmith available. No locksmith available until Monday. By this time, a staffer came by to find out what the commotion was all about. He suggested that possibly they could find another Jayco trailer owner to see if their keys would work. The call was placed to the main office to see if they could locate one. Yep, there was one, but they were not at camp. Walt was contemplating the pros and cons of breaking the lock when this big burly guy, Billy, stopped 'cause he heard about Walt's and Barb's dilemma from his neighbor. He said the lock is easy to replace and he keeps extras for his rig 'cause he's done it before. Walt gave him permission to break the lock. With a pry, Billy, popped the door open. Luckily, the lock still worked. Real safe, right? Barb just earned her first FUBAR.
After thanks were given all around to everyone, we all went our separate ways.
We finished off the evening with cards and a Brats dinner compliments of Walter and Barb.
Tomorrow, we head for the Great Smoky Mountains.

Bill Call me the next time you are looking for propane in Madison. There is a spot about 2 miles from where you were at the Walmart.
