Day 1 : 6th June
We arrive at Sydney airport ready for our flight to London with a stop over in hongkong. Feelings of excitement and nervousness was running through my mind. We said our goodbyes to my mum and went through customs it's all becoming very real very quickly. We flew with Cathay pacific which I would highly recommend to anyone flying for long periods of time. Enough leg space in economy class and was good tasty meals (for airline food) and was spaced out efficiently enough. First flight was a long 9hrs we both didn't sleep and just watched movies as it were still technically only 2pm when we left Sydney. Arriving in hongkong at midnight I was exhausted and egear to get some sleep on the next flight, with only a 2 hour layover we went straight to the next gate at hongkong airport. Casually looking at some shops on the way, hongkong is so cheap! But we didn't want to get carried away with buying things and we will possibly see how much room we have on the return flight home.
We board for our next flight, a meal was served straight away which was great for me as I just wanted to eat and then sleep. Thank god for antihistamines that are drowsy I slept like a log for a good portion on the grueling 12 hr flight! Jason on the other hand couldn't sleep a wink and was having spasms in his left knee most of the time.
We arrived in London at 530am got our bags went through customs and then we thought crap how the hell do we get to the hotel?? A lovely man at the change office directed us to the underground metro and thankfully told us our line we needed to be on and our stop for the hotel.
Luck was on our side today as we arrived at the hotel at 8am hoping there was somewhere we could at least put our bag, but even better they let us check in as no one had used the room the previous night! We straight away went to our room and had a nap. We did not want to sleep the whole day as We didn't want to waste it and I was dying to go to Camden markets and go shopping at cyberdog, which had been recommended to me by several people.
Catching the underground metro again was no problems (why can't Sydney trains be as easy as the uk??)
Camden markets is definitely a must see for anyone that travels to London. It's got everything that a raver/doofer/alternative styled person could ever want!
We stopped at a pub for a drink and something to eat and then we were ready for bed, as we did need to be on the bus ready for our tour at 630am.
