A view from the top of Mount Iron, the regular walk we do to enjoy the outdoors and keep fit...

Wanaka is where I live and will be living for the next 3 months. It is right on the lake and is so beautiful! We have such clear nights that you can see the milky way nearly every night. There are tons of walks to go on and the Mount Iron is a fav with our house as it is only 10 mins away and then a good work out with lovely views of the lake and town, and surrounding mountains. I live with three other people (paul, cami and lizzie) and the girls work on the hill with me, while paul works in town at a local bar and a rental shop. We all know each other from Fernie which is nice.

Work has been a little slow to start but it is the NZ school holidays for two weeks now and I could be working 14 days straight, which will be very tiring but good for the wallet and bank. The snow on the hill is finally good enough to ski a little off piste stuff but not all the mountain is open, and none of the parks are open. There are 5 half pipes and loads of massive jumps and rails. Its a true park hill with some lovely runs that are pretty gentle. Some of the off piste looks more challeging and I can't wait for it to all be open.
