Well we did get ½ a day in Melbourne city centre, which was quite unexpected and quite refreshing after spending the previous few days on planes or in moggy Hong Kong!
We met up with one of my brilliant mates from uni, who's doing his elective there and had a good natter and a long walk round. Just to get the bus return into town for a 15-20min journey was £18! Crazzzzzzy! Everything seemed so spacious after being cooped up in Hong Kong for 2 days.
Everything else other than the bus, was also ridiculously expensive! It would certainly be a good place to go on a detox! Not that I'm planning to of course but since being away I've had 1 glass of wine on the plan from Heathrow!
The city has loads of modern buildings with a few older buildings. There's also a pretty efficient tram/train system in place.
Fitzroy gardens in the centre are quite pretty and there were a couple of weddings going on which was cool. Literally cool. Almost freezing cold I'd say.
Sadly this is about all I have to say on Melboune because the rest of the time was spent in the airport or in a hotel room trying to speak to the airlines.
I did get to use the hotel "fitness room." Literally a room with 2 treadmills, a bike and a few dumbbells, but that sorted out some of my exercise urges.
I also had to adjust my taste buds to eating Vegimite instead of Marmite. Quite an ordeal but better than nothing. Thank god the Aussies do pretty good cups of tea!!
More news coming your way soon!

Grandma & Grandad Crosland Happy to hear that you are happy and apparently healthy. Love reading your blog, and always look forward to the next. Could use a little of the cool temps, as it has been in the 100 degree range for several days. Thank goodness for ice, and g & T. Also red wine. Out tomorrow night to celebrate a belated 85th birthday for Uncle Don. Going to the Outback, most likely will have a "Bloomin Onion". LOve you XXX
