The wind in the Maritime Alps did not let up. We spent our time doing other things but then made the decision to head to Annecy where we hoped to get some flying in otherwise we would do other things. So after spending Saturday morning at Castellane market we spent the rest of the day in the Verdon gorge followed by Bastille day celebrations in St. Auban village. A late start on Sunday and we hit the road again heading for Annecy. From Grenoble onwards we were in real mountain country - spectacular scenery!
We arrived in Annecy in rain but the forecast for Monday was promising!!
And so it was that God was shining His light on us and the weather was not only perfect - but perfect for flying!
We had a lovely tandem flight from Col de Forclaz and over Lake Annecy.Later we explored the town and had dinner at a lovely Greek restaurant bringing back memories of many a happy holiday in the Greek islands.
Tuesday was a solo flying day and I left Ash at the Col de Forclaz to do his thing! I headed for the lakeside but did not venture in as even the kids were emerging blue and I figured an old lady like me might have a heart attack!
Ash was just happy to get in the air and managed a Petite tour de Lac.
We left Annecy at 4.30 the next morning to drive to Nice airport to begin our journey home.
Annecy was the cherry on the top of an amazing holiday and definitely on the cards as a return destination!
