The first country In Europe I have visited would be Spain. Well, aside of course setting my foot on Amsterdam airport prior to my flight in Spain.
Spain reminds me of living in Manila and my college days in Intramuros.
There are similarities in architecture since Intramuros structures were aligned and influenced by Spanish regime. It is a mixed of comfort and familiarity to me. The adjustment is far easy and I felt like I was home away from home.
What i like most about Spanish architecture are the intricate details on their structure. It's like every decorations are thought off and well planned. Have a look on Sagrada Familia and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Most spanish habitations are apartment type especially in the city called 'piso'. There are also villas ranging from spanish approach to mediterranean designs. I also like little plazas along the streets filled with trees where you can have your snack or cup of coffee.
There are lots of places I wish to visit in Spain. But so far, I went to Girona, a town in Catalunya near the beach or playa where my husband lives and Barcelona which is a great city full of history. In Barcelona, you can find lots of work by famous architect Gaudi.
Yes, there is a siesta in Spain where workers are on long break from
12 noon to 4pm. Spanish wants to take a long lunch break since they take this chance for talking and bonding with their families. During those hours that I'm in Spain for vacation, I spent my siesta sleeping like what I do in Philippines. hahaha.
Definitely, more places to visit soon in Spain.
