I always dreamed of traveling to Venice, Italy and finally this came true for me this year.
Before heading to Venice, I went to Rome first and had my 4 day tour alone. I traveled to Venice from Rome via trenitalia and met with my husband who came from Switzerland.
I arrived at S. Lucia train terminal, just walking distance heading to our hotel. My first impression about the city- breath taking, beautiful and picturesque. The old and vintage walls of Venice houses sitting right next to canals makes it warmth and uniquely beautiful.
On our first day, we headed to Rialto to have our late lunch and rode a waterbus traveling within city premises. I grabbed a pizza and pasta to have a taste of italian cuisine and gelato for my snack while we roamed around the piazza and just wandering.
For our second day, we allotted the whole day in visiting nearby venetian islands like Murano and Burano. We watched how the murano glasses were made and bought our souvenirs. In Burano, we saw the other side of venice with so much colorful walls like powder blue, pink, green, yellow, etc.
Venice is a small city so you wouldn't mind being lost. We spent most of our days just walking around, finding spot where you can just relax and take a cup of coffee and appreciate the beauty of life. Maybe that's why most tourists coming in here are couples or newlyweds. The city is very romantic and calm. It would be a wonderful feeling roaming around with someone while you are riding a gondola or just in corner admiring the view of the city.
On our last day, we took our much awaited gondola ride which lasted for 45 minutes and spent the rest of the day just walking and admiring every street and corners of Venice.
I love to go back again. :)
