The Trip
Well the end of our East Coast Adventure! Having spent just over 2 weeks travelling from Washington and ending up in Toronto I can honestly say it has been a fab experience with some of the friendliest and most helpful people I have ever met!
Washington was weird because I was by myself, but it was pretty enjoyable wandering around with my camera and my ipod on, then on day two I met a lovely American guy called Christian who was even more obsessed with photos than me and so we wandered together all day!
NY was pure madness - staying with Amy's sister Laura in Brooklyn and getting to see the real NY lifestyle with a night in Manhattan, random house party and running from bar to bar in torrential rain despite a day beautiful sunshine all day - loved every minute!
In Boston we really fell on our feet - found a lovely apartment and got cheap tickets for the symphony orchestra for a bit of culture, then Halloween in Salem with a few new friends and a few cocktails being served by Axel Rose, doesn't get much more American or more crazy!
From Boston we had to go to the Ben and Jerry's factory, well it was on the way, kinda, if we got a bus to a random town then hired a car...! Worth it though! Yet another bus and we arrived in Montreal - small and very parisien in the old town and a lovely hostel made one night there worthwhile. Only one night again in Otttawa but this time in the old jail - the ghost tour made sure it wasn't just the snoring from the guy in the next cell which kept us awake!
And now, after a night in Toronto, we are finally at the end of our East Coast tour - a night in Niagara Falls before our flight to San Francisco tomorrow lunchtime. Just about to go see the falls lit up at night, a gorgeous end to a brilliant two weeks.
