Hi Everyone!

Well, I´ve made it to Lima! Flew in to Edinburgh on Tuesday and had my first small disaster when I couldn´t get into the flat I was meant to be staying in...but luckily I was meeting Dzimitry and Poonam for a drink and was able to stay in Dzimitry´s flat. I managed to get around 2 hrs sleep before gettin a taxi to the airport at 1.45 am to catch my flight to Amsterdam and then on to Lima. Turns out I was really lucky and KLM was a really nice airline...I got 3 seats to myself, a private television with lots of movies to choose from, free drinks etc. I landed in Lima on NYE around dinner time and got my luggage and transfer to the hotel.

Unfortunately when I arrived they didn´t seem to know that I was staying or about any group meeting on the 02 Jan!! However I eventually got a room and the next morning met a couple from my group- Johnathan and Iesha who were just married a month ago! So I hung out with them for a couple of days and saw some of the local attractions including the catacombes, an Egyptian museum and the Catherdral. The taxi rides were an experience lol...the drivers are mental here.

I met the rest of the group last nite and our tour leader, Roberto, who will take us to La Paz in Bolivia, where we get a new leader. The group has 15 in it and everyone seems really nice! The majority are girls (we are obviously much more adventurous)! This afternoon we leave for Pisco on the local bus, a journey of around 3-4 hrs I think and then some Pisco sours tonight (the local drink made of white grape whiskey I think, with lime, sugar and egg whites). They´re really nice but more than 3 and I think I may hv trouble finding the hostel...they´re so strong!!
