Hi to all our family and friends, hope you are all well and happy. As Carol is having trouble with her computer at the moment I thought I would write a short version of our hike to the lookouts around Cape Hillsborough today. Keep watching our site for more of our adventures or as it turned out today.....misadventure. Regards to all, Bob.
Today we left our camp about 9.30am to follow the walking track up over the headland to the Twin Island and Wedge Island lookouts. After dawdling along, chatting, complaining about the heat, taking lots of photos...... little thought was given to the incoming tide. In fact everyone was cheering when we reached the beach and the easy walk back to camp. Dismay could hardly describe our reaction when we realised we were cut off by a rocky outcrop that was now well out in the water. No one was in any mood to return the way we had just come in 30 degree heat so it was either swim or climb. We climbed!
