After a very healthy gourmet omlet for brecky we had a short 5km drive down from our free camping spot into Home Valley Station this morning.
Home Valley is a very professionally run station with first class amenities, grassed sites, detailed information about the activities on offer including some interesting walks, a good sized swimming pool, large bar/dining area and live entertainment.
Arriving early gave Carol an opportunity to catch up with some washing while I read up on the various walks on offer.
We decided to do the Mount Baldy Lookout Trail. It is a 3.6km return walk and it took us about an hour.
The walk took us to Mt Baldy Lookout which had excellent uninterrupted views of the entire area and particularly the Cockburn Rangers that dominates the scenery in this part of the eastern Kimberley.
On return to the campground I had a swim and then it was beer o'clock. After a couple of drinks we headed into Dusty's Bar for tea. Tried the "sampling plate" that included buffalo, kangaroo, crocodile and camel. Very nice. Enjoyed the live entertainment and had a really good night with no dishes. Carol entertained the small crowd with her determination to dance the night away despite the lack of support dancers and the complete lack of dance music, but we still managed to have a fantastic night. Carol even managed to entice a very unlikely couple to partake in some dance floor antics. Carol's party animal side was in full flight tonight. Love seeing her enjoying herself.
PS funny how Tony doesn't mention the fact that he thought he was John Travolta!
