Place: Koh Phi Phi - Maya Bay (The Beach)
Weather: sunny but a little bit cloudy
Today was the day we were going to The Beach! We left our bags in the travel shop and head for a hearty breakfast. Whilst there we saw Simon, Neils and Jamie (an American guy who we met in koh phangan who was doing the same route) who joined us after dropping their bags off. We had decided that before we head to the beach we would have a beach day…which kind of doesn't make much sense.
We went to a different beach to normal which was actually much nicer. Since we hadn't seen the lads for a few days we had a good catch up and went in the sea for a little bit. When it got to 3pm we head back in land to go to a meeting point for the trip.
There was about 25 people in our group which was a really good size. On the boat ride over to the island we stopped off to snorkel and jumped from the top of the boat into the sea which was such good fun!.
When we got to the island where the beach is, which is actually called Phi Phi Lay, we had to swim from the boat to some steps through to a jungle walk. It was literally like being in the film,(apparently, I haven't seen it) swimming to the island and then walking through the jungle to find the beach.
It was an absolutely amazing place, some of the girls said that it didn't look half as good as it did in the film, but nonetheless it was still amazing. We all had a bit of an explore before dinner was ready and then we started playing some drinking games. We played ring of fire and the rule is if you pick a king you have to put some of your drink into a middle cup, then the person who finds the last king has to drink it. Well guess who got the last king….HA no not me, little lucy lou had to drink a bucket of whisky and beer mixed which was not nice!!
The guys running the trip were great, they did a fire show for us and we had some music on their big speakers. In the sea there was some plankton that glows which looked awesome, just like star's in the Ocean and I held one in my hand! Eventually I went to sleep in a sleeping bag on the beach. It was such a great day..and night!

Place: Koh Phi Phi
Weather: started off very wet then went very hot!
I was woken on the beach by pouring rain. I did just put the sleeping bag over my head but then thought I had better move, so I went to another place that was slightly sheltered by the rock. After slowly waking up and drinking a lot of coffee, we went to have a group picture where we all jump, just like in the movie. It didn't turn out too well with the whole group because we just couldn't get the timing right, but we got a great one with Aimee, Lucy and me.
Swimming to a boat in strong currents, early in the morning after hardly any sleep is not fun! It was so hard trying to get into the sea let alone across it!
As soon as we got back we jumped in the shower to get all the sand off,and spent most of the day catching up on my sleep…zzzzzzz
It was almost time to get ready to go out for dinner so we stayed in the room for a while. It's lucky we did because we basically had a monsoon for an hour! We could see it was really dark on the other side of the island and was heading towards us, the rain was literally like a waterfall coming from the sky moving towards us.
It stayed like that for about and hour and was absolutely mad and the sound of it hammering the tin roof was horrendous. When it stopped it was about time to go out for dinner so we went to Paddy's which has the best chips in the world!
Whilst there we met a few of the people (Irish Paul and Phil) who came to The Beach with us and we all went for a drink afterwards and ended up at the party beach. Even though I was absolutely shattered before it, once I got on the dance floor I was fine It didn't last too long though and I went in earlier than everyone else and had an amazing sleep until 1pm the next day!

Place: Koh Phi Phi
Weather: really really nice; hot and sunny but less humid for once!
Today was a super short day! Woke up at 1pm and still felt shattered. Lucy and I headed to get some breakfast and then went to the pool near the beach where we met Siobhan and Aimee. It was about 3pm by this time so I sunbathed for a little bit until the lads met us and we went in the pool; jumping and attempting to back flip off the roof of the bar .
We had some drinks at our Shack before hitting the beach party…again!

Place: Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lanta
Weather: hot but overcast
After sleeping for the past 4 nights with all creatures great and small I was super relieved to be leaving. We had said that we would meet another Lucy that we met at The bech and get the ferry to Koh Lanta together and the other guys were going to come over and meet us tomorrow. We got off the ferry and went with someone who had told us about there accommodation just before we got on the ferry.
The resort was actually really nice; it had a pool and a massage place right next to the beach. We had lunch looking out over the sea and then went to have an explore in the town. Turned out the town was just a street and was basically deserted. So we turned back and, since we hadn't slept properly for ages, had a nap for a few hours.
When we woke up it was time to get ready for dinner. We went and we had an absolute feast! Starters was Chicken Satays, Chicken Spring rolls and garlic bread between the three of us. I Lucy Lou had enchiladas whilst Lucy and I shared some thai food. Then desert, which had to be the best course of the lot, was banana spring rolls, fried ice cream and baked pineapple in honey. Lush!
We then slumped ourselves in the bar, and managed to squeeze in a cocktail or 2.

Place: Koh Lanta
Weather: Overcast and windy
We didn't wake up until nearly midday today, even though we had had a nap and an early night the day before. I still felt stuffed when I woke up.
The other guys showed up then and we had a good session in the pool playing don't drop the ball for probably an hour and having doggy paddle races. You can tell it was a super interesting day and this trip is a lot of hard work!
Later on we had dinner, like normal and then had a game or 2 of s***head, a card game. That was basically all we did and all we could do all night. The island is empty and we went in low season!

Place: Koh Lanta
Weather: quite overcast but brightened up later
Today we did want to leave but when we went to the travel shop we were told that the afternoon ferries were no longer running because of the season so we had to wait until the next morning to go. It was a bit annoying at first but then we found out the guys had gone to hire mopeds, but they had gone one better and got a tuk tuk as well so we could come along!
It was hilarious but so scary at the same time. Simon was driving the tuk tuk with Lucy, Aimee and me in it so it was pulling to the left all the time because that's where the weight was. We had to work it out so that the weight was near the bike part so I sat right behind Simon and Lucy sat at the back but close to us. When we went up any hills though it wheelied because the weight was now at the back so Lucys job was to run to the front of the tuk tuk when a hill came up and lean to the front to balance out the weight. Aimee had gone on the back of Fay's (a girl the guys met on their last night in phi phi) bike instead.
Whilst on the bikes we went all the way around the island. First stop was at a viewpoint restaurant where we got a drink, then we went to Lanta Old Town which was quite a cute town with a few dress shops that we looked in. We stopped by a market place as well and then a place called Funky Monkey which looked cool from the road so we went to have a drink.
Our journey back on the tuk tuk just got better when the chain kept coming off, I think simon had enough by now.
That evening we decided to go out for dinner since we had the use of the bikes. Whilst waiting for everyone to be ready to go Lucy and I were sat with Neils and asked if he had any gossip. He said he could make some up for us and came out with 'Oh I heard Aimee shout from the bathroom the other day "Oh crap it's positive!" I don't know what sort of English saying that is though.' We burst out laughing.
We had a lovely meal at a place called Retro and now Neils hates Me even more because I have now beat him at a game of pool as well as seeing a whale shark! Since other Lucy had left that morning, Lucy Lou and I decided to sleep in the other room so that we could all save some money. We made a nice bed for ourselves on the tiled floor, not the comfiest of nights but it was funny because Neils had a nice sleep talking moment when he sat up and shouted 'Dude, dude! Can you see me!' He was saying it to Simon who was super confused but everyone else was just laughing so he guessed he was sleep talking.

Place: Koh Lanta to Phuket
Weather: Sunny!!
Early morning start to catch the bus.
The ferry journey was a bumpy one! The waves were huge and the first part was only a small boat. Thankfully when we got to Koh Phi Phi we changed onto a bigger boat so it was a bit sturdier. We sat outside on the deck and chilled in the sun until we got there.
When we got to Phuket we got a minibus to Patong. The taxi driver was useless though, he had no idea where we were staying, I think he got out about three times to ask where it was. Eventually we found it and checked in. We then went on a search for a starbucks because its so touristy in Phuket we new there would be one and we also needed a major coffee kick! We walked for about half an hour to find it but oh it was worth it…oreo cheesecake, black forest cake and espresso chocolate brownie between the three of us. Yum yum!
It turned out to be a right splurge day because we came across a massive market with loads of clothes and accessories. We spent hours in there going round in circles, the shop owners must have known us by name by the last time we went round! I bought some new flip flops and a Chang vest top.
We went out for dinner at a really cheap place but it was really good food! After that we went back to the room and played s***head for a while before heading out into town. Bangla Road is the main place and jeese it's a sight for sore eyes! Think back to nana plaza and the girls dancing, it's a million times worse and it is just rammed with people, which I loved, because we sat at a bar loking onto the main strip, where I people watched for hours…before heading off to a Ping Pong Show, when in Thailand! It turned out to be a really good night, finished by us having a dance on the stage with the girls again.
