so here goes, leaving my mum and dad at the airport was the hardest thing i have ever done, but theres no going back 11 hours to go...
so on arriving in bangkok,i was scared so scared! i looked for familar faces to give me some idea where to go to get my backpack!
3nights in bangkok, hostel not the best but was clean, met some great peeps, khaosan road where the partys at.. visited temples, museums had an amazing day out riding elephants, stroking tigers at tiger temple! bamboo rafting! (one dream fullfilled in my first 3days not bad going)
crazy place"Khaosan" translates as "milled rice", a reminder that in former times the street was a major Bangkok rice market. In the last 20 years, however, Khaosan Road has developed into a world famous "backpacker ghetto".
the film 'The Beach' famously described Khao San Road as "the centre of the backpacking universe". Judging by the truth-seeking travellers who converge here to shop, exchange tales and prepare for their next stint on the backpacker trail, it's a phrase that sums it up pretty much perfectly.
it was the best place to start.. but will i be in a hurry to return... no! once is enough!
peace xxx
