Hooray, the adventure has finally begun.
Could have started better, I woke up with a headache that?seems detirmined to annoy me. Its 16.30 and its still linering, persistent little b*****. That aside I switched on the news to be faced with 'Train Disruption'...only on one line. The one from Norwich to London!, the train left 30min late and sat at Chelmsford for another 30min. Which was nice.
*Note Sarcasm*
But I made it, thats the main thing. Being the genius that I am, having arrived at Liverpool St I thought it would be a good idea to walk to my hotel. Maybe take in Saint Pauls Cathedral and such on route...
10 minutes into what was a 30minute walk I realised that carrying at 40lb bag in what is unusually hot weather was actually rather stupid. Thankfully,?by luck or having a fantastic sense of direction I found my hotel easily, and didnt die of dehydration; so no harm done :).
A quick rest and shower soon restored me (and the Starbucks. Coffee is good - and coffee stores are plenty in London.)
*Update, 18.00 Hours
Fuelled up with Caffiene and Carrott Cake I decided to take a wonder down to Covent Garden and watch people pretend to be statues, got bored and decided to watch the people watching the people pretend to be statues. Then ventured to the theatre disctricwhich; as always, was very croweded. Tourists always flocked here, at any one ime I could make out four languages (mostly German and Italian); I even spoke abit myself. to some random people who thought they'd like to talk to me. How nice.
I managed to find passage through the thronging crowds and made it to the British History Museum, the galleries were closed by the time I got there - but I was stil able to check out the Central Courtyard displays *Will be heading back tomorrow.
That was pretty much the first day, I'm back in my hotel now; very tired and hungry. I think it's about time to go find a decent pizza.
Adios.
