Awake again at 7:30 Thursday morning, time to blog before getting outa bed. Yesterday we went on a double decker bus tour and got off at wesminster. We saw big ben (the big ass clock), the abbey and the cathedrel. Then made our way to buckingham palace. On the way we stopped at a local park where there were heaps of pelicans, geese and other birds. There were also heaps of cute as chip munks/squirels running around and they were tame as!!
We were lucky when we got to the palace as we managed to catch the majority of the changing of the guard ceremony which only happens every few days. I think the girls enjoyed seeing the palace more then Gez n i but i guess it's good to see it. Afterwards we made our way back towards piccadilly circus (roundabout) and had lunch at an american/italian joint. Food was ok, nothing special tho. After stuffing our faces we parted ways with the girls, who hit up the shops. Gez and I headed towards arsenal station, with our destination of the famous Emirates stadium.
On the tour you got to see the directors entrance, the directors suite (where all the big wigs dine and sit to watch the match). It was sort of surreal to sit in their padded chairs in the grand stand and imagine watching a game in a packed stadium. We then got to see the change rooms which were something else. Ice baths, a spa, a rub down room, everything was first class. The tour then took us down the players tunnel and onto the sidelines. Once again it was quite surreal to be on the sidelines of Emirates stadium. We then proceeded to check out the interview rooms, the press room and out towards the massive merchandise store where we spent a fair bit of time due to gez not being able to decide what to get and how many tops to get.
Following Gez deciding on his purchases, we checked out the Arsenal museum. Was fairly interesting to see all the history about the club and the stadium, i didn't know they'd only been at emirates since 06, so it's all relatively new.
Once we had spent a good two and a half/ three hours at emirates, we made our way home via the tube.
For dinner we went to the same pub just down the road that we went to on the first night. It's 2 for 1 main meals all January there so fairly cheap eat out. Jo n libs had a cajin chicken burger each, whilst gez and I had satay chicken and a steak each. All up with 4 drinks it was only 40 pound, about 60 aud, so not bad at all. Stayed there for multiple drinks and later on called it a night.
I'm not too sure what the plan is today. We had talked about going to see oxford or cambridge although I've just realised that they're not overly close at all. I know we're going to the beatles crossing and the girls might want to do some more shopping. Having dinner with Glenn (aussie cousin who lives in London) tonight at a sushi place. Will be good to catch up with him. Our flight to sweden tomorrow is at 9:30 so it will be an early morning for us. We'll have to clean up the apartments tonight or maybe even this morning as the owner is dropping in today to inspect and drop off our deposit.
Libs has fallen back to sleep next to me so I better go drag her outa bed and get the day started =]
