china
Well everyone, Im leaving china so thought I would update the journal before I leave. Couldnt post a new blog, dont ask. Chinese internet
Have really liked it here, despite being stuck in Harbin for a week. Trust me to get here when they are having the worst winter on record, and the transport system has shut down. I think I have managed to avoid the worst. One person I met got snowed on a bus for 4 days, thank god that didnt happen to me.
I prefered Beijing to Harbin, just because there was more english speaking people and more nightlife. We would watch dvds in the evening after we had been out for tea, or go to a club or something. The great wall was ace, its even bigger and steeper than you would think. The forbidden city was good to, but I just liked walking down the alley ways watching people go about there business, spitting, selling s***e, cutting up dogs. I only got the trots once too which was very good for me I thought.
In Harbin I started to go a bit nuts because I didnt have anyone to talk to. It was good fun though, you can insult the chinese and they dont know what you are saying. A woman wanted to charge me five yen to use the toilet, so I said 'I would rather s*** my pants than pay for a hole in the ground.' After not talking to an English speaker for five days some dutch couple walked past and heard me haha. It was worth coming here though just to walk across the frozen river.
Well Im off to Russia now. My train leaves for the border at half nine, so hopefully will get there late tuesday. Im gonna be ten hours in front of everyone, and my time zones are gonna change every day so dont worry if I vanish for a bit.
