Finally writing something here while Carla is in the shower. Been a great couple days hanging out with my buddies (carla & beaver)and I am really enjoying the vive of Iceland. Started my day off early by going to the bakery to get us some freshly baked bread for the morning, yummy!

Second night in and we have started integrating with the locals! Today we went to the travel agency to pick up our package for the ready of our trip. The lady spread out a large map where they had drawn out our route and various locations of each hotel. As well as the interesting areas we should stop to visit. It all looks amazing but my first thought was...we are definitely going to get lost! But that's ok, they are giving us a GPS and a phone to call in case th...
At Arnar's apartment, after an uphill trek from the bus station. Lovely digs, his mom was great, showed us how to start and press play on the dishwasher. We are very close to the tallest church in Reykjavik, of which the airline mini movie told us was the best place to go to get an amazing view of the city. So it's on our list. Now for a nap and a little refreshments. Beaver has already started, he's about to make up a vodka soda!
Long but short night, we have landed in reykavik. Woohoo! Greeted by some cold wet weather, but no worries we were prepared. Now on our bus waiting to get to Arnar's apartment in the city. Bonnie suggested we sit in the front set of the bus to get a good glimpse of the trek into the heart of Iceland!
End of day one. Great start to the vacation, except for the part where Bonnie beat me at crazy eights and Texas Holdem after I showed her how to play! After our nap we found a great little bar that many of our pals back home would love, so it's a great place to settle in at after a day of sight seeing. Also found a cozy little cafe called Koffin, it's so small and cozy that it actually felt like a coffin. Not like I've ever tested one before...but maybe some day...
